Technical Support Engineer

Job description

We are looking for passionate people to join our team, ready to bring the transportation revolution to the world. Exciting times, with exciting challenges. So, are you ready to beat the streets? If you are someone that wants to be part of a group of entrepreneurial people who share a revolutionary mindset and work at a fun, keep reading!

Here is the challenge

As a Technical support engineer you will be responsible for supporting our Customer Service department in resolving technical issues with our product. Felyx is a 24/7 business, and issues often arise during peak hours like Friday evenings, and weekend days.

We are building a technical support team that together with CS and OPS colleagues is able to mitigate any outage or disruption in our service.

What you will be doing at Felyx:

  • Following and improving the Incident Management (IM) plan in case of high impact disruptions in our services
  • You will be the initial contact for handling issues flagged by CS
  • Advise to automate parts of the plan
  • You will understand the full application landscape within felyx
  • You will be working with various SaaS products and an internally built backoffice application.
  • Align with Devops, CS, Ops and other stakeholders
  • Escalating issues to 3rd party software providers
  • Reporting out on incidents
  • Logging all necessary data in ticketing systems

And important not to forget: we encourage you to grow with the company and within your role as we are continually on our journey towards ‘world domination’. Just kidding, market leader in Europe will do (for now).

How to know if you are perfect for the job:

  • You are graduated or certified in an IT related course
  • You have experience in executing and writing shell scripts and various command line tooling
  • You have 3 to 5 years of experience in medium to large scale B2C platforms
  • You have experience in querying data from (relational) databases.
  • You are able to read and understand log files
  • Be analytical and customer-focused
  • You are ok to work during irregular hours (early mornings, evenings and weekends) against financial or time-for-time compensation.
  • Strong and structured in both verbal and written communication
  • You always know which people to contact
  • You keep your cool in stressful situations
  • Experience in automating parts of the incident management plan
  • Understanding the product from a technical (architectural) perspective
  • Understand REST API’s and tooling like Postman

What would make you even more perfect (but don’t worry, this is a plus):

  • Hands-on experience in cloud platforms, preferably GCP
  • Experience with PagerDuty
  • Positive mindset
  • Programming experience is desired, but you don't necessarily need to be a guru.
  • You love the colour green & riding e-mopeds

Benefits for you:

You will work in a transparent, fast-growing and inspirational environment in which you are able to take the lead over your own career and will get challenged on a daily basis!

And next to that:

  • 29 paid days off on a full-time basis: 28 on the roll and a day off on your birthday! (yay!)
  • You will get free felyx minutes, of course.
  • We want to invest in your future: a good pension plan is therefore in place (1/3 employee, 2/3 employer).
  • We offer 6 weeks of paternity leave with 100% salary for all (upcoming) dads.
  • Great office with great food options (& obviously free coffee, duh!) just 10 minutes from Amstel Station.

One more thing: Don’t worry about buying a suit just yet, our interview process will be online or by phone, and the office dressing code is: be comfortable and come as you are!

Okay, one last thing: In case you are doubting if you meet all the requirements, still apply! We love people and we don’t hire based only on words and cv documents. And, if you might know someone who fits the requirements better, don’t be afraid to share it with them! We have a variety of openings and you might both end up working at Felyx. If you are a smart person and are excited about the company, you will most likely find a place here.

At felyx we believe that the best workplace is one that represents the world we live in today. This means we believe that diversity in the broadest sense of the word connects us and drives us forward as a company.

We believe that diversity goes hand in hand with different perspectives. It is these different perspectives that can help us become better and more innovative in finding solutions for our customers.

And because we believe this can be achieved, we are looking for colleagues who are intrinsically motivated and bring the right experience. Gender, age, sexual orientation or origin will never be a factor and will never become one.
