We are looking for a Lead Backend Developer to extend our team of software engineers.


Here's the challenge

We work primarily with Golang, but we care much more about general engineering skills than about knowledge of specific programming languages or frameworks. Our ideal candidate enjoys working on both the front-end and back-end parts of any piece of software. Striving to develop high-quality, maintainable software is important for us, as is knowledge of automated software testing. We are a team of 6 developers which you will be a part of.

We get truly excited if you

  • Have 5+ years of commercial programming experience.
  • You will lead a team of software engineers; excellent communication skills are paramount.
  • Have good analytical skills.
  • Have experience with Golang, understanding its pros and cons.
  • Have experience with Rest APIs and complex business logic.
  • Have experience with gRPC services (not a must).
  • Have excellent problem-solving skills
  • Have experience and/or good understanding of microservice architectures.
  • Have experience and/or good understanding AMQP, pub/sub systems and message brokers
  • Have experience with Google Cloud Platform (or similar cloud provider - like AWS, Azure)
  • Have experience with relational databases.
  • Have a good understanding of CI/CD processes.
  • Have a need for testing the developed functionality.
  • You are based in the Netherlands.
  • Are fluent in English -Ideally upper-intermediate level


Bonus points if you

  • Like working in an environment where you can work with cutting edge technologies
  • Have a great desire to work a for leading scale up.
  • Other programming language skills (Java/C#, C/C++, PHP, Node.js, Ruby etc.)
  • Experience with mobile app development
