People management in software teams is an often undervalued task and is easily assumed to be part of the Agile process. People need other kinds of attention besides knowing what to do (the product) and how to co-operate with others (the process). At felyx we are strongly convinced that real attention for people is the key to success for any team.

For our Engineering team we are looking for a seasoned professional who likes to get best out people by listening to their needs, challenging them on their ambitions and helping them with personal and professional growth. The Engineering Manager will take care of details for people while also guarding their career development.

What you will be doing at Felyx:

  • You will report to the Global Head of Engineering
  • People management in the Engineering department
  • Guiding developers in their career development
  • Understand the team members and team dynamics
  • Guiding the onboarding trajectory
  • Stimulating operational excellence and continuous improvement
  • Aligning with recruitment and hiring process
  • Supporting the Scrum Masters, to resolve impediments that lie outside of their control.
  • Be involved in team retrospectives, and observe on what can be improved process-wise (also outside of the scrum process)
  • You will be the 2nd hand of the Global Head of Engineering.
  • You will help working out long term plans in the Engineering team
  • Guiding and being involved in quarterly planning
  • Work out proposals for Leadership team or Management team
  • Spokesperson to the team for various broader topics

And important not to forget: we encourage you to grow with the company and within your role as we are continually on our journey towards ‘world domination’. Just kidding, market leader in Europe will do (for now).


How to know if you are perfect for the job:

  • You have at least three years of proven experience in leading technical teams or people management
  • You have a background in software engineering or a (former) programmer
  • You have phenomenal communication skills
  • Have an interest in building a support structure for engineers to help them succeed at their job
  • You are used to working in an agile environment;
  • You have experience with building strong relationships with peers and management
  • You are fluent in written and spoken English
  • You thrive on change and gets things done
